Who can use tivvio?
Anyone 18 or older can sign up. Whether you're running a community meetup, a music night, a tech conference, or anything in between — tivvio is built for you.
Is tivvio available outside South Africa?
Yes. Anyone can create an account and host free events globally — no restrictions. Paid ticketing (Pro and Studio plans) currently requires a South African bank account for payouts. Global paid event support is on the way.
Getting Started
Is tivvio free to use?
Yes. The Starter plan is completely free — no credit card required. A 5% platform fee applies only to paid tickets. Free events always have zero platform fees on any plan.
How do I create my first event?
Sign up, complete a short onboarding (takes about a minute), then hit "Create Event" from your dashboard. You can go from idea to live and selling tickets in under 5 minutes.
Are there limits on how many events or attendees I can have?
None at all. Create as many free or paid events as you want, with no cap on attendees — on any plan.
Events & Tickets
What kinds of events can I host?
tivvio is built for creators and community builders — conferences, music events, workshops, tech meetups, cultural experiences, and more. We don't support events that are illegal, fraudulent, or harmful. Edge cases are reviewed individually, and we reserve the right to remove events that conflict with our platform values.
How do attendees receive their tickets?
Immediately after purchase, attendees receive a QR code ticket via email. No app download required.
How does check-in work?
No dedicated scanner or app needed. Open the check-in page from any phone browser inside your event dashboard, and scan attendees' QR codes to mark them as checked in — instantly.
Can I host a private event?
Yes. You control visibility. Publish publicly so anyone can discover and buy tickets, or keep it private and share a direct link with your invitees only.
Can I create multiple ticket types for one event?
Yes. Add multiple ticket types per event (e.g. General, VIP, Early Bird), each with its own price, quantity limit, and sales window.
Payments & Fees
What payment methods are accepted?
Payments are processed via Paystack. Attendees can pay by card or EFT.
What are tivvio's platform fees?
Starter (free): 5% per paid ticket. Pro (R299/mo): 2.5%. Studio (R799/mo): 2%. Free events always have zero platform fees — on any plan.
Who pays the Paystack processing fee?
Paystack's fee of 1.5% + R1 per transaction is passed transparently to the attendee at checkout. You always keep your full ticket price.
Payouts
When do I receive my payout?
Payouts follow Paystack's standard settlement schedule, which is set and managed by Paystack — not tivvio. Check Paystack's documentation for the latest payout timelines.
Refunds & Cancellations
What happens if I cancel my event?
You are responsible for issuing refunds to your attendees. tivvio platform fees are non-refundable once a ticket has been sold, except where required by law.
How does an attendee request a refund?
Attendees should contact the event organiser directly. tivvio may step in to help resolve disputes at its discretion.
Plans & Billing
What's the difference between the plans?
Starter is free with a 5% fee — everything you need to get going. Pro (R299/mo) drops the fee to 2.5% and adds discount codes, advanced analytics, priority support, and removes the "Powered by tivvio" badge. Studio (R799/mo) goes to 2% and unlocks custom branding, embeddable ticket widgets, multi-team access, API access, and dedicated support.
Can I upgrade or downgrade my plan at any time?
Yes. You can switch plans at any time from your dashboard.
Privacy & Security
Is my payment information safe?
Yes. All payments are handled entirely by Paystack's PCI-compliant infrastructure. tivvio never sees or stores your card details — we only receive a payment confirmation and reference number.
Does tivvio sell my personal data?
No. We only share data with essential partners: Paystack (payments), Supabase (infrastructure), and Resend (email delivery). We operate in full compliance with South Africa's POPIA.
